From a great first round of 24 couples we were in for a great night! Some couples that did not make the final but caught my eye were: Plamen Danailov & Tina Gerova - great, bright yellow costumes which matched their personalities. They received the prize for the happiest couple. Krystian Grabowski & Irina Shukhat - an attractive couple who are getting stronger with each competition. Christian Baerens & Kristina Staykova - a new partnership but very well matched. Jason Daly & Tarn - always energetic and fun to watch. Tomas Lewandowski & Isabella Olszewska - another couple who are always entertaining.

The final ended:

6th: Jonathan Roberts & Anna Trebunskaya 6,5,4,6,5. This was not a great night for them. They looked a little disconnected and I felt Jonathan was over-dancing to compensate.

5th: Ilya Ifraimov & Nadia Goulina 4,6,5,5,6. They are always beautifully groomed. They showed consistent dancing but need more impact to get to the next level.

4th: Nick Quesnoit & Senya Plusec 5,4,6,4,3. I had never seen this couple before but they drew me in from round one. Their dancing was powerful, fast, clean and fun to watch. Consistent to the end!

3rd: Pavel Kovalev & Anna Garnis 3,3,3,3,4. I have always liked this couple's dancing and tonight they danced their hearts out from round one. They are very musical and have a strong man/woman feeling. They could make their rumba a little calmer and more sophisticated.

2nd: Andrei Gavriline & Elena Kryuchkova 2,2,1,1,2. I loved the blonde hair, Elena! They are always interesting to watch with a very fluid style. There was quite a contrast between this couple and the winners. Andrei & Elena won the rumba and paso doble.

1st: Maxim Kojevnikov & Yulia Zagorouitchenko 1,1,2,2,1. An exciting couple, Yulia being an extraordinary girl and Max an excellent foil for her. I did think that tonight they sacrificed musicality for speed. They are better in the brighter dances and need to express the characteristics of rumba and paso more.
